StrangerFestival kapsamında yıl boyunca Türkiye dahil 25’i aşkın ülkede video atölyeleri düzenlenmektedir.
2009 – MODE İSTANBUL girişimiyle Türkiye’de düzenlenen ücretsiz StrangerFestival Video Atölyesi’nin ikinci İstanbul ayağı, 27 Temmuz ile 9 Ağustos 2009 tarihleri arasında Avrupa Kültür Vakfı, Kosmopolis Rotterdam ve Hollanda Başkonsolosluğu desteği ile Digital Film Academy’de gerçekleşti. 2009 atölye detayları, fotoğraflar ve çekilen videolar
2008 – Türkiye’de StrangerFestival’in ücretsiz video atölyesi de ilk kez 2008 Mayıs ayında İstanbul’da Avrupa Kültür Vakfı (European Cultural Foundation – ECF), Kosmopolis ve MODE İSTANBUL ekibi işbirliği ile Digital Film Academy’de gerçekleştirildi. Atölyeye katılan 15 gencin, yönetmenlik, senaryo, storyboard, dijital kamera ve montaj üzerine seminerler içeren iki haftalık program sonunda tamamladıkları videolar diğer uluslararası yapımların da sergilendiği StrangerFestival web sitesinde yayınlandı ve 3-5 Temmuz tarihlerinde düzenlenen festivalde yarıştı. Sırasıyla MTV Stranger ve Stranger Seyirci Ödülleri kategorilerinde finale kalan Cansın Ruta (What Color is White?) ve Oğulcan Türe (Juice) ile Türkiye jürisinin seçtiği Zeynep Yorgancılar (Too Many I’s), Amsterdam’daki festivale gitmeye hak kazandı, Nazlı Deniz Güler’in Diğerleri (Others) videosu da uluslararası gezici Stranger Gösterimleri’ne dahil edildi. As part of StrangerFestival, there are free video workshops and masterclasses organized each year in more than 25 countries across the world including Turkey.
2009 – The second Istanbul leg of the free workshop in Turkey was organized by MODE ISTANBUL between July 27th and August 9th, 2009 at Digital Film Academy with the support of European Cultural Foundation, Kosmopolis Rotterdam and Consulate General of the Netherlands. 2009 Workshop details, photos and videos made
2008 – In Turkey, the first free video workshop took place in Istanbul at Digital Film Academy between April 26th and May 13th, 2008, with the collaboration of European Cultural Foundation, Kosmopolis and MODE ISTANBUL team. 15 participants were selected among a group of 80 applicants, and they all completed their videos attending a 2-week program including seminars on directing, screenwriting, storyboarding, digital camera and editing. All 15 videos were then submitted to and streamed at StrangerFestival website and competed at the festival that took place between July 3rd and 5th, 2008. Cansin Ruta (What Color is White?) and Ogulcan Ture (Juice) won respectively the MTV Stranger and Stranger Audience Awards and Zeynep Yorgancilar (Too Many I’s) was selected by the Turkish jury and all three filmmakers got the chance to attend the festival in Amsterdam. Nazli Deniz Guler’s video (Others) was selected by the international jury to be included in the touring StrangerExhibition program.
