MODE İstanbul Film ve Dijital Sanatlar Girişimi, her sene Türkiye’de ve yurtdışında birçok önemli kültür ve sanat merkezinde çeşitli kuruluşlarla ortaklaşa olarak yerli/yabancı film gösterimleri, medya atölyeleri, seminerler ve sergiler gibi kültürel, sosyal, sanatsal ve eğitsel etkinlikler gerçekleştiren, film ve proje üreten İstanbul merkezli bir organizasyondur. Bu doğrultuda, Türkiye’nin de ön planda yer alacağı uluslarası bir platform oluşturmayı, bahsi geçen alanlarda sanatçılara, sanat üretimine, kültürler ve jenerasyonlar arasında fikir dolaşımına katkıda bulunmayı hedeflemektedir. Kurucu ekip Türkiye’de Uluslararası RESFEST Dijital Film Festivali (2004-2008) ve European Cultural Foundation (ECF) girişimiyle 2008’de başlatılan, Avrupa’nın gençler arası kültür alışverişine yönelik video platformu StrangerFestival (2008-2009) kapsamındaki tüm etkinlikleri düzenlemiştir. MODE İstanbul 2010 yılından bu yana, ECF’in yeni Gençlik ve Medya Programı dahilinde Avrupalı genç medyacıları destekleyen bağımsız kültür ve medya kuruluşlarının oluşturduğu Doc Next Network adlı ağın Türkiye’deki temsilciliğini üstlenmektedir.

MODE İstanbul ana birimleri:

YOUTH MODE: Doc Next Network ve StrangerFestival projeleri kapsamındakiler dahil olmak üzere Gençlik ve Medya alanındaki atölyeler, film gösterimleri, diğer proje ve faaliyetleri içeren MODE İstanbul ana birimidir.

PRODUCTION MODE: Film, video, animasyon yapımları ve bu alanda danışmanlık ve networking gibi destek faaliyetleri yürüten birimdir.

FESTIVAL MODE: RESFEST Türkiye Dijital Film Festivali organizasyonunu ve diğer uluslararası film festivallerden seçkilerin gösterildiği, atölye, seminer, söyleşi, sergi, partiler gibi yan etkinlikleri içeren faaliyetlerden sorumlu birim.

OUTBOUND MODE: Türk filmlerinin yurtdışındaki festivallerde gösterimlerini yürüten birim.

MODE Istanbul is an Istanbul-based film and digital arts initiative producing films, developing projects and organizing media workshops, master classes, screenings, exhibitions and gatherings in selected cities in collaboration with distinguished partners on local and international levels. With a focus on cultural dialogue and exchange of ideas across borders and generations, MODE Istanbul supports talents of various ages and backgrounds, helping them produce, promote and showcase of their media creations. The founding produced the internationally acclaimed digital film festival RESFEST in Turkey (2004-2008) and all StrangerFestival related events (2008-2009). Under its Youth MODE unit, the initative is now a partner to the Youth and Media Program of the European Cultural Foundation and its Doc Next Network, a unique movement of independent cultural and media organizations, capturing the views of young European media-makers.

The main units of MODE Istanbul:

YOUTH MODE: The main MODE Istanbul unit organizing workshops, screenings, other projects and activities in the Youth and Media field including Doc Next Network and StrangerFestival projects.

PRODUCTION MODE: The unit in charge of film, video, animation production and related consulting and networking services.

FESTIVAL MODE: The unit organizing RESFEST Digital Film Festival and the showcase of selections from a wide array of international film festivals including innovative and creative shorts, features, animation, retrospectives, music and design videos. The events also include workshops, seminars, talks, exhibitions and parties.

OUTBOUND MODE: The unit showcasing Turkish film selections in festivals outside of Turkey.
