27 Temmuz ile 12 Ağustos tarihlerinde gerçekleşen StrangerFestival Video Atölyesi boyunca öğrenciler seminerlere katıldı, filmlerini çekti, kurguladı ve tamamladı! Hepsini tebrik ediyoruz! Fırat Yücel, Fatma Çolakoğlu ve Ulaş Cihan Şimşek’in oluşturduğu Türkiye jürisi, atölye yapımcısı Gökçe Su Yoğurtçuoğlu ve atölye eğitmeni Kerem Kurdoğlu danışmanlığında tüm videoları puanlayarak  Ilgın Deniz Akseloğlu’nun “Onion” adlı videosunu atölyenin birincisi seçti. Burçin Çakmak ise “I Love…” adlı videosu ile Stranger Seyirci Ödülü Ağustos ayı birincisi seçilerek bu kategorinin finalistlerinden biri oldu. Böylece Ilgın ve Burçin, StrangerFestival’in parçası olarak 13-18 Ekim tarihlerinde Amsterdam’da gerçekleşecek  Stranger Academy’ye katılmaya hak kazandı!  Bu etkinlik süresince ikisi de atölye çalışmalarına dahil olarak yeni videolar çekecek, medya profesyönelleri ile görüşecek, başka ülkelerden festivale gelen gençlerle tanışacak, gösterimleri izleyecek ve kutlamalara katılacaklar! Ilgın ve Burçin’in yanısıra Recep Kupik “Kill Your TV” adlı videosuyla, Volkan Karataş da “The Kiss” adlı videosuyla bu yıl festivale gönderilen tüm videolar içinde ilk 120′ye girdi ve Shortlist StrangerFestival 2009 adlı listede yer aldı. Tüm atölye katılımcılarının videoları da diğer uluslararası videolarla birlikte StrangerFestival web sitesinde gösterime girdi. Videoları izlemek için tıklayın.

Atölyede neler yaptık:

27 Temmuz – Tanıştık, sohbet ettik ve geçen senenin festival videolarından örnekler izledik.
28 Temmuz - Hocamız Kerem Kurdoğlu ile senaryo ve yönetmenlik seminerlerine başladık. Herkes ilk senaryo fikirlerini ortaya döktü, hepsi hakkında konuştuk.
29 Temmuz - Öğleden önce teknik sorumlumuz Mehdi Tanrıverdi kamera kullanımı hakkında bilgiler verdi; öğleden sonra ise Kerem Hoca seminerlerine video estetiği başlığı altında devam etti.
30 Temmuz - Atölyeyi destekleyen İstanbul Hollanda Başkonsolosu Onno Kervers bizlerle kamera egzersizleri dersine katıldı! Öğleden sonra Kerem Hoca ile senaryo toplantıları yaptık, son hallerine getirmeyi amaçladık.
31 Temmuz - Montaj semineri günüydü…
1-6 Ağustos - Herkes birer gün boyunca filmlerini çekti, sonra aktarımları yaptı ve montajına başladı.
7-8 Ağustos – Film montajlarını bitirdik.
9 Ağustos - Kerem Hoca ile filmlerin değerlendirmesini yaptık.
10 Ağustos – Filmler internete yüklenmeye başladı.
11 Ağustos - Türkiye jürisi, Amsterdam’daki Stranger Academy’ye katılacak olan birinciyi belirlemek üzere tüm filmleri puanladı.
12 Ağustos - Tüm filmlerin toplu gösterimi yapıldı ve jürinin seçtiği filmin açıklandığı ödül töreninde herkes sertifikalarını aldı.

StrangerFestival Video Atölyesi’nin 2009 İstanbul ayağı MODE ISTANBUL tarafından Avrupa Kültür Vakfı, Kosmopolis Rotterdam ve Hollanda İstanbul Başkonsolosluğu desteğiyle Digital Film Academy’de gerçekleştirildi.

During the StrangerFestival Video Workshop, which took place between July 27 and August 12, all the students participated the seminars and hands-on exercises given by the workshop instructor Kerem Kurdoglu and the technical supervisor Mehdi Tanrıverdi. They then shot, edited and completed their videos – Big congrats to all of them! Under the supervision of the workshop producer Gokce Su Yogurtcuoglu and instructor Kerem Kurdoglu, the Turkish jury composed of Fırat Yucel, Fatma Colakoglu and Ulas Cihan Simsek selected Ilgin Deniz Akseloglu’s “Onion” as the best video of the workshop. On the other hand, Burcin Cakmak was selected a finalist of the Stranger Audience Award by winning the August competition with her video “I Love…”. Both Ilgin and Burcin won the right to participate Stranger Festival’s Academy to take place in Amsterdam between October 13th and 18th. There, they will shoot new videos as a part of new workshops with the supervision of media professionals, meet other young participants from different countries, watch screenings and be a part of the celebrations! Apart from these two videomakers, Recep Kupik (with his video “Kill Your TV) and Volkan Karatas (with his video “The Kiss”) made it to the top 120 videos among all others submitted to the festival this year and were placed on the Shortlist of StrangerFestival 2009. The videos of all the participants, along with the other international videos, are showcased at StrangerFestival website. All videos can be watched here.

What we did at the workshop:

July 27 – We met, chatted and watched videos from last year’s festival.
July 28 – We started the screenwriting and directing seminars with our instructor Kerem Kurdoglu; started discussing the initial ideas for each participant’s screenplay.
July 29 – In the morning our technical supervisor Mehdi Tanriverdi began his lecture on how to use the camera equipment. In the afternoon Kerem Kurdoglu carried on with his seminars on video aesthetics.
July 30 – Workshop’s supporter Consul General of the Netherlands, Onno Kervers, joined us during our shooting exercises class! In the afternoon, we met with Kerem Kurdoglu and worked to finalize the screenplays.
July 31 – It was the day for the video editing seminar…
August 1 to 6 – Everybody took one day to shoot their videos; then began the media transfer and started editing.
August 7-8 – We finalized the editing phase.
August 9 – We evaluated all the videos with Kerem Kurdoglu.
August 10 – We started uploading films on the web.
August 11 – Jury convened and rated the videos to pick a winner to join Stranger Academy in Amsterdam.
August 12 – All the films were screened, the winner was announced, and the participants received their certificates.
